Who We Are
Catholic Korean School of San Jose was founded in 1984. We are located within the Holy Korean Martyrs Catholic Church in San Jose. The school year, generally, starts in late August and finishes in late May. Our school follows a semester system. Every Saturday, we have one hour of extracurricular activity, followed by two 45-minute Korean classes. We offer a variety of extracurricular classes, which include Korean song/storytelling, Paper folding, Art, Taekwondo, Korean traditional instruments, Sewing, Korean Calligraphy, and Drawing. We have a total of 13 Korean classes, from Kinder 1 to bilingual classes. About 140 students learn not just the Korean language, but also Korean culture in our school.

Greeting from the Principal
Greetings! My name is Stefano Taehoon Ko, the principal of the Catholic Korean School of San Jose. The purpose of the Catholic Korean School of San Jose is to teach second-generation Koreans to understand their roots as Korean people and instill pride in them to be a Korean within America through learning the Korean language. The power of community is revealed as children naturally get exposed to Korean culture and develop their Korean skills through Korean school activities. A school is able to grow when the staff, parents, and students work together in harmony. Catholic Korean School of San Jose will always do its best to become a solid foundation for our students’ development.

Curriculum
Our Korean classes are broken down into Kinder 1, Kinder 2, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6, Intermediate, Advanced, and Bilingual Classes (beginner level, intermediate level, and advanced level). The maximum number of students for each class is 15. Korean Intensive Class is separate from the regular classes, and there is no limit to the number of students. Extracurricular classes include Korean Song/Storytelling (Pre-K2), Paper Folding (K~), Art (K~4), Taekwondo (1~), Korean traditional instruments (3~), Sewing (3~), Korean Calligraphy (4~), and Drawing (4~). The maximum number of students for an extracurricular class is determined separately according to the characteristics of each class.
